My Baby Girl...

Dakota Bear McAuley is my baby girl boston. I got her when I was 14 years old, and I saved all summer to pay for her all by myself. (Although looking back, I didn't even pay for the majority if you count food, vet visits, etc!)

This picture is her modeling debut. :P It also happens to include many of my favorite things. These include: Dakota herself, Dakota with her eyes bugging, black white and pink together, and my snuggie.

Anyways, I'm so glad that this week is coming to an end. It's been exciting, stressful, (mostly stressful), but I've gotten everything accomplished that I needed to in the past 7 days. There have been some mishaps, like when I "lost" my book and searched frantically, made copies of someone else's book, only to find it when I got home in my bedroom. But, as my good friend Jamie like to remind me, I just kept swimming, swimming, swimming. :) And now I can go to sleep tonight ready for a nice relaxing weekend!

I'd like to give a shout out to my Aunt Anna and Uncle Rob. They will be running in the Houston half- marathon on Sunday! Woop woop!
GOOD LUCK!

Lauren / SENIOR...

Lauren is a very good friend of mine. We went to school together since we were in seventh grade. We stuck through marching band and high school together until I left her behind to graduate. :(

BUT, we are still friends, I see her all the time, and she's GORGEOUS

Here are some of her senior portraits I took in Galveston. We shot once in Houston, but because of rain it was unsuccessful. To reshoot, she decided upon Galveston and, second time around, they turned out lovely! I think everyone should be jealous of how photogenic she is!

Hope you like! :)

Busy busy busy....

Here lately I have been really really busy!! Which is a blessing and a curse.

I am so thankful for all of the opportunities I have been given, but I have often wanted to pull my hair out!

There have been many photos shoots, school, and I'm planning my friends' prom (because I've been there done that and I LOVE to plan things). :)

Since my last post, I have purchased a new Nikon D5000 which I have fallen in love with. It took some adjusting, but I feel like I've "gotten to know" my camera very well in the short time I've had it.

Anyways... Here are some sneak peeks from the Memorial Ride and Cook-off!

Emotionally SPENT...

What an emotionally exhausting day.

AWESOME (although rainy) shoot with Lauren.

Exciting results after beginning to edit the photos from the shoot.

BOOM Camera Breaks. Absolutely devestated.

Later, relief when my Aunt has a D3000 I can borrow for the time being.

Now, just trying to take everything else one step at a time.

And, feeling blessed for even being given the opportunities I have been.

On my way...

I found out on Tuesday that I am going to be the photographer for a real event! Hehe, I say real because I normally take pictures for fun and for no particular reason (besides a photo project). But this is a real event! I'm on my way to becoming a good photographer!

On March 20 is the
Texas Fallen Heroes Memorial Ride and Cook-off!
And I'm the photographer for it!
No way!!
It's crazy, but true!!

I am very excited, kind of nervous, but mostly looking forward to it and the experience I will get from it.

If you want to ride, just go online to www.texasfallenheroesride.com to register and to recieve a free t-shirt!

UHCL...

Yesterday was my transfer advising appointment at
University of Houston Clear Lake.
It  went really well and I'm feeling good about transferring there!

This semester God has pressed on my heart that maybe HBU isn't right for me. I love it there, but it is very far from where my life is centered, and I've never really felt home at HBU. Faculty and students are great, but I'm just not sure it is where I'm supposed to be learning.
UHCL has a renowned Psychology department and photography classes I can take! (HBU's photography program will be no longer after this semester.) Plus my momma teaches there sometimes! The campus is great and it is still small. I was able to find parking, unlike at University of Houston main.
The UHCL Spring Open House is this Saturday and I will be attending to officially apply for Fall '10!

Now... this is going to take a lot of work. I need 12 more hours to get in, so summer school here I come! Well in july i will be starting summer school. I will still be getting a good break.

For the first time in my life, I'm looking forward to the change. CHANGE. I don't do change, but God is giving me this new perspective. Change can be good. I think it's going to be a good thing for me...
